Respite Care

Some research into providing emergency support and respite care was undertaken at the end of 2014. While we still think there is a pressing need for this service we are unable to develop this further through lack of resources at the present time.

Kiribati Connections

The Trust is exploring ways to support English Language development both here and in Kiribati. Local Schools are donating quality new and 2nd hand readers  as well as library books to assist English Language teaching in Kiribati. A regular delivery of goods and trainers is being planned

Seasonal Workers

Growers such as Galaberry in Omaha bring as many as 120 seasonal workers to Mahurangi each season to pick fruits such as strawberry and blueberry. The Trust is considering an opportunity to provide English Language Tuition for these workers, who (often) keenly desire to win the right to apply for permanent residency in NZ.Fluency with English is a key to  that process.
